Good news for daily-rated workers of the St Augustine campus: agreement has been reached between UWI and the NUGFW, which represents daily-paid workers on campus.

After months of negotiations, an agreement was reached which will see workers getting significantly improved wages and conditions. Commenting on the agreement, NUGFW Labour Relations Officer Patricia Victor-Wilson said, “What this signing has done for UWI workers is bring them closer to their counterparts, which is something that they have been striving towards since 2002.”

Future negotiations are likely to take into account productivity, training and job security.
