The St. Augustine campus is currently hosting 50 International Exchange Students from January 2007 until the end of May 2007. This number has more than doubled from the previous semester, September to December 2006, when 23 exchange students were hosted at the campus. These exchange students are predominantly from Universities based in the United States, such as Pacific Lutheran University located in Washington, Trinity College located in Connecticut and Winston Salem University located in North Carolina.

The foreign students are pursuing a range of majors including History, Sociology, Engineering, Psychology and Social Work. An orientation was held for the exchange students at the Principal’s office during the first week of the semester. The students were warmly welcomed by the Campus Principal, Dr. Bhoendradatt Tewarie. They were also briefed on campus life and life in general in Trinidad and Tobago by the head of the International Office, Mrs. Indrani Bachan-Persad; Mr. Chandar Supersad, Student Advisory Services; and Corporal Martin, UWI security.
