The Dental School located in the Faculty of Medical Sciences at Eric Medical Sciences Complex, Mount Hope has had its best results ever in 2006. Performance by dental graduates have always been good but this year’s graduates performed brilliantly. Twenty-four out of twenty-seven students passed (89%) but a large number of awards were also taken – 15 in Restorative Dentistry, 15 in Child Dental Health and 17 in Oral Diseases. The External Examiners this year were very pleased with the performance of students and very complimentary to Faculty at the Dental School.

The Dental School at Mount Hope is the only one in the University of the West Indies system and, in spite of the fact that it operates under trying conditions (it needs more space, facilities and equipment) it produces some of the best dentists in the world.
