The St. Augustine Campus has invested significantly in its infrastructure and with the use of Video conferencing will expose staff, students and other interested parties to lectures, workshops and conferences as they happen without having to travel. A major event exploring “Race Travels: Care Packages from Trinidad to Chicago and back again…” linked the University of the West Indies with Northwestern University in Chicago for a performance involving the Noble Douglas Dance Company and the ThickRoutes Performance Collage of Chicago. The performance aimed to bring Caribbean-American communities, the Northwestern University community and wider American communities in contact with our local culture.

The University is therefore positioning itself in 2005 to build the knowledge-based society through the provisioning of ICT knowledge On-Demand.
