Sustainable Development Post Graduate Day
Co-hosted by UWI-SEDU and The Cropper Foundation

The May 16-17, 2006 workshop seeks to bring together a number of international and regional initiatives and commitments, all broadly linked to the theme of sustainable development and the implementation of the Mauritius Strategy which was adopted at the January 2005 United Nations International Meeting in Mauritius to Review the Implementation of the Programme of Action for the Sustainable Development of Small Island Developing States.

The Workshop will be preceded on Monday May 15, 2006 by a workshop focused on post-graduate research on Sustainable Development at the UWI and post-graduate students from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies who are participating in a semester course in Sustainable Development policy and practice with special reference to the insular Caribbean led by Senator Angela Cropper. This workshop will be co-hosted by the UWI Sustainable Economic Development Unit (SEDU) and The Cropper Foundation.

Professor Gustave Speth, Dean, Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies also will deliver an open, public lecture at the Central Bank, Port-of-Spain on Climate Change on the evening of Monday May 15, 2006.
