The University Scholarship Exam

Application Form

The University administers on its own behalf and on the behalf of the Governments and private donors, a number of Scholarships and Exhibitions on the basis of the performance of candidates in the annual Scholarship Examination.

 

Scholarship application forms are obtainable from and should be returned to the Assistant Registrar, Examinations, Cave Hill; the Senior Assistant Registrar, Examinations, Mona; and the Assistant Registrar, Admissions, St. Augustine Campus and Site Coordinators.  In the case of Jamaica, forms are also obtainable from Community Colleges and Guidance Counsellors of High Schools.

A non-refundable Examination Fee of J$1,200; BDs$50; TT$150; BAH$25; Eastern Caribbean: US$25 must accompany each application. 

 

The deadline for the receipt of Application Forms is Friday December 12, 2008.

 

DETAILS

  1. The Examination will be held on
    THURSDAY  FEBRUARY 26 2009
    9:00 am - 12:00 noon [Communication]

    and

    FRIDAY  FEBRUARY 27, 2009.

    9:00 am - 12:00 noon [Reasoning]

  2. NO LATE APPLICATION WILL BE ACCEPTED.
  3. The examination fee is not refundable.
  4. Applicants for the Scholarship Examination must also apply for entry to the University using the appropriate application forms for the same Faculty as that for which the Scholarship Examination is being written.
  5. Forms must be completed in Duplicate.

The Examination consists of two General Papers

  1. PAPER 1 (Communication)
    1. This will comprise a Multiple Choice Section testing Language and Comprehension Skills and a Production Section requiring Summary and Essay Writing.
  2. PAPER 2 (Reasoning)
    1. This paper will focus on Spatial, Structural Perception and Problem Solving

Important information for applicants applying to enter in August 2009

Individuals must complete the scholarship application form which is separate and apart from application of entry forms

 

Important information for First Year Graduates

The following students are NOT   eligible:

  1. Holders of a First Degree;
  2. Students who entered the University before August 2008;
  3. Students already in possession of a full Undergraduate Scholarship
