Board for Graduate Studies and Research

The Board of the School for Graduate Studies and Research has overall responsibility for all Higher Degrees offered. It is co-chaired by the Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Dean, Graduate Studies and Research (located at the Mona Campus) and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Research (located on the St. Augustine Campus). The main mandate of the Board is to ensure the development and coordination of quality higher degrees as well as provide support for faculty research especially in identified Research Pillars areas.

Board policies at the Campus level are implemented by Campus Coordinators who are also Board members. At The St. Augustine campus there is a Committee for Graduate Studies and Research that is responsible for the administration of higher degrees.
Each Faculty also has a Graduate Studies Sub-Committee which is responsible for evaluating applications making recommendations including those for leave of absence or extensions to time limits.
