Regulations

(VI) Award of Degree
|

|
- Subject to the approval of Senate,
candidates who have passed all the courses and the
research project shall be awarded the M.Sc. in
International Relations.
- The M.Sc. Degree shall be awarded in two
categories: Pass and Distinction.
- The requirement for a degree in the
Pass category is an overall average ranging from
50% to 69%.
- A candidate must obtain an average of 70% and
above in the examinations and the Research Project
in order to be awarded the Degree with
Distinction.
- Candidates who repeat the examination in any
course shall not be eligible for the award of the
degree with Distinction.

(VII) Resits
|

- Full time candidates who fail to obtain
the pass mark either in one or two of the prescribed
courses in the First Semester, or in one or two
courses and the research project in the Second
Semester may, at the discretion of the Institutes
Board of Examiners be allowed to resit. Part-time
candidates who fail to obtain the pass mark in one of
the prescribed courses may, at the discretion of the
Board of Examiners, be allowed to resit.
Full-time candidates who fail to meet the minimum
requirement either in three courses in the First
Semester or in the three courses and research project
in the second semester normally may be asked to repeat
the semester or withdraw. Part-time candidates who
fail to meet the minimum requirement either in the two
courses in any semester in the First Academic year or
in the one course in the First Semester of the Second
Academic year or the one course and research project
in the Second Semester of the second academic year,
may be asked to repeat the semester or withdraw.
- Students will be allowed no more than two resits
in any one course.
