The IDU subscribes to the following journals:

Active Learning in Higher Education
Active Learning in Higher Education (Paul Chapman Publishing, A SAGE Publications Company) focuses on all aspects of developments, innovations and good practice in higher education teaching and learning worldwide. The journal includes accounts of research by those active in the field of learning and teaching in HE, and overviews of topics, accounts of action research, outputs from subject-specific project teams, case studies, information and communication technologies and theoretical perspectives.

Innovations in Education and Teaching International

Innovations in Education and Teaching International is the journal of the Staff and Educational Development Association (SEDA)

SEDA is a professional association committed to improving all aspects of learning, teaching and training in higher education through staff and educational development. Membership is open to all staff and educational developers in higher education and to teachers, academic support staff and managers in higher education.

SEDA provides and supports activities including: national and international support groups and networks; conferences; publications—practical papers, a refereed journal, a magazine; support and accreditation for professional development; research; liaison with other organizations.

Journal of Further and Higher Education

Journal of Further and Higher Education (Carfax Publishing, Taylor & Francis Group) is an international peer reviewed journal. It publishes articles and book reviews representing the whole field of post-16 education and training. Topic areas include management and administration, teacher education and training, curriculum, staff and institutional development, and teaching and learning strategies and processes. The Journal encourages debate on contemporary pedagogic issues and professional concerns within the UK and abroad. The Journal is committed to promoting excellence in these fields by providing a forum for the debate and evaluation of a wide range of pedagogic issues and professional concerns.

The majority of articles will take as their focus:

• Management and administration, particularly cultural and structural development within the system.
• Curriculum development and its relationship with institutional and staff development.
• Teaching and learning approaches, strategies and processes.

These articles may variously:
- raise and debate contemporary issues
- report on new research
- relate new research to theory
- elucidate/disseminate relevant theory
- relate theory to practice
- offer informed comment on contextual and professional matters (not necessarily research findings)
- describe cases and their implications for a wider field
- present a biographical portrait of a seminal figure
- discuss a historical movement in terms of its relevance to present and future situations.

Journal on Excellence in College Teaching

The Journal on Excellence in College Teaching provides a written forum for discussion by faculty about all areas affecting teaching and learning, and gives faculty the opportunity to share proven, innovative pedagogies and thoughtful, inspirational insights about teaching.

The journal is published by and for faculty at universities and two- and four-year colleges to increase student learning through effective teaching, interest in and enthusiasm for the profession of teaching, and communication among faculty about their classroom experiences.

International Journal for Academic Development

The International Journal for Academic Development is the journal of the International Consortium for Educational Development. The journal enables staff and educational developers around the world to debate and extend the theory and practice of academic development, in support of the improvement of the quality of higher education.

The International Consortium for Educational Development (ICED) was established to promote educational or academic development in higher education worldwide. ICED is a network whose members are themselves national organizations or networks concerned with promoting good practice in higher education.
