The Instructional Development Unit (IDU) of The University of The West Indies welcomes you to our home on the web.

The IDU was established in 1996 to enhance the quality of teaching of the University’s lecturers, teaching assistants and tutors. To this end, we perform a combination of academic, administrative, consultative and technological functions. Our workshops, programmes, and services are aimed at equipping teaching staff with the pedagogical skills and techniques needed for promoting student learning and achievement at the St. Augustine campus.

We continue to work tirelessly to ensure that our university produces graduates of exceptional quality. Our efforts in this regard have been recognized by the community we serve in the form of the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence 2003/2004 in the area of Service to the University Community.
