Human Disease

Students pursue the Human Disease course in Semesters 1 & 2 in Year 3. This course exposes students to lectures and ward-rounds in medicine and Surgery. It is taught at the San Fernando General Hospital.

Clinical Dental Sciences

Semesters 5 to 10 are clinical semesters, where the students see patients as part of their undergraduate training. They work on patients in the Polyclinic, Paediactric and Oral Surgery clinics. They are introduced to clinical dental subjects in a phased approach throughout these years to build on their clinical exposure and knowledge.

Work on the clinic floors is integrated, so as to afford students the benefit of providing patients with comprehensive dental care. Clinical work is supervised on a one-on-one basis by academic staff and part-time clinical instructors.

The details of these courses are outlined in the Faculty of Medical Sciences Undergraduate Booklet.
