NOTICE OF GUILD ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

WELCOME

The society has been up to some wonderful events thus far. The Matriculation reception was successful even though leading up to the event we were expecting the worst. Lecturers spoke, a student sang, two students perform a poem, the MC crack a ………joke and the Engineering Posse played their steel pan. I thank everyone who participated in this event.

Before we could even rest, the cake sale was the Monday after. It was held in the Undercroft. Students donated the cakes, napkins and bags while the faculty provided the tablecloth. It was a successful event since all the cakes sold out. Again, thank you all for the donations.

The Thursday after i.e. 29th September, the General Meeting was held. It began with the vice president welcoming everyone and thanking everyone for his or her patience since there was difficulty with the multimedia projector. The student coordinator educated the members about the structure of the ESS and the role each executive play. The secretary reported on the activities the ESS executed as of 29th September such as APETT, newsletter, website, orientation and the dispensing machine.

The President began speaking about attitude and encouraged every student to have a professional attitude towards others, school environment and in participation. He spoke about concerns such as sockets and cleanliness in the undercroft. He explained how the jerseys are being sold per department per week. He then listed all the events for the semester and gives a general idea of each. The treasurer proceeded with the budget as of 29th September. The P.R.O ended the meeting with announcements and thanked everyone.

The meeting lasted 35 minutes.

I hope you enjoyed the site so far.
JE VAIS LORD
ESS President
