All first year students and transferees are allocated an academic advisor. The initial allocation is made by the Individual Faculties.
All allocation difficulties following the initial allocation would be dealt with by Student Affairs in consultation with the Departments Senior Advisor.
Each department is responsible for the appointment of its own advisors. All faculty are obliged to act as advisors if requested to do so.
Faculty advisors should be appointed within each department to co-ordinate and communicate decisions regarding allocation and to act as a conduit for information between the department and the student.
Each advisor should be notified of the names of their advisees prior to the commencement of the academic year.
All students should be notified of their advisor during faculty orientation week.
Where advisors have previously given notice of meeting arrangements, these details will be forwarded to the relevant students
Arrangements for meeting with advisees are the responsibility of individual Faculty Advisors. You are encouraged to arrange an initial meeting early on n the first semester.
A student Advisor Working Group should be set up to monitor the overall operation of the programme.
